when reading tabs.. what does the “h” or”p” etc after the number mean? ex: —5h-6p— ?
thanks!
umm… and what does that mean? ![]()
oooh and what does tap mean?
like on bass would G be the lowest pitch like if it was E on guitar? Or would it be the highest pitch like if it was e on guitar?
I would expect G to be the lowest pitch, but I don’t play bass and my friend said that it’s the highest pitch but she doesn’t know much about bass and has never really played a musical instrument in her life. Except piano.

the bass has only 4 strings the guitar has 6 strings.so theres more lines on the guitar tab
well the major one is that bass has four strings, so therefore four lines on the stave and guitar has six ?
ie
BASS:
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
GUITAR:
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
———————- 4—–2——-3—1——-
does that answer your question?
A bass has 4 strings a guitar has 6 strings….so yeah
on a bass the lowest pitch is the e string and the highest is the g string
